Kleancolor Chunky Holo Black
Today I have Chunky Holo Black from Kleancolor today! Chunky Holo Black is a brownish-black jelly fill with super super thin color shifting glitters! Chunky Holo Black is very sheer so it’s probably not a good idea to use it on it’s own. Black is  the best base for it, I think..
The glitters color shifts from orange to green and yellow depending on the angle that the light hits them.. Some blue are also spotted in the bottle but I can’t get them on my nails. The glitters do tends to sink to the bottom of the bottle and Kleancolors only have one steel ball bearing in it so it’s not easy to shake them up. Problem solved by turning and storing the polish upside down. :)
Sorry for the slight tip wear! I was too lazy to do cleanup so I wore it for a few days to let the polish on skin drop off itself before taking this photo! :P

Inspired By A Tutorial (Day 30)
My nails for today’s theme, ‘Inspired By A Tutorial’ is actually inspired by Chalkboard nails' post when she was also doing the same challenge!
This set of Owl nails is really too cute to not do it! Up till now, I’ve probably used the most number of different polishes for this set of nails!
Hope you’ll like these cute little owls too!

Inspired By A Flag (Day 28)

For today’s theme ‘Inspired By A Flag’, I’ve decided to do a different flag! Can you tell what I did? Haha! It’s Luffy’s pirate flag from the comic ‘One Piece’!

For the flag, I did a simplified version on my ring based on the below image!

As for the rest of my fingers, I painted Picture Polish Festival over OPI Black Onyx as I really liked it the last time I used it!

That’s all for today! Chaos!

Picture Polish Festival
A little side-track from the 31 days challenge, today I’m going to show you guys Festival from Picture Polish!
Festival is a multi-coloured flakie in clear base - perfect for layering! Seriously, who can resist flakies? They are so pretty! I wanted to try Festival over both a light and dark base (OPI Skull & Glossbones and Black Onyx) to see which combination is nicer and no doubt about it, dark base win hands down! The colors of the flakies really comes out well against the dark background!
Festival on Skull & Glossbones is unfortunately a little disappointing as the colour of the flakies did not pop like it did against Black Onyx . I thought it would look nicer but oh well.. I did 2 coats of Festival for these, I guess you can always layer more coats for greater coverage.
Anyway, I bought my bottle of Festival from Susan from http://www.thesubtleshimmer.com! You can check out her Ready stock page if you are based in Singapore as she brought quite a few pretty & exciting Ozotic & Picture Polish colours! Much more convenient & cost effective to get these babies locally than ship them over.. especially if you are just getting a few!
That’s all for now! I should really get back to finishing my 31 days challenge.. I’m almost there! Need to hang on! :P

OPI Pink & Gold Shatter

OPI had recently added 2 new colours to their shatter collection - the Pink Shatter and Gold Shatter.

Pink Shatter is a limited edition polish released by OPI in support of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® in its promise to save lives and end breast cancer forever, and Gold Shatter is to be released with Muppets Collection, expected to be available in November.

I’m not sure if anyone had the same problems with me, but I used to find shatter and crackle polishes very hard to apply. I’m often unsure whether if I should apply thin or thick coats and a lot of times, my shatter polishes fail on me and hardly cracks! Anyway I told Kim that I dont really like to use my Shatters as it’s so hard to get them to crack nicely and she told me to add a few drops of thinner to them - and it really works!

Now when applying shatter polishes (with some thinner in them), I would use medium-thick amount and do several quick swipes over my nail -it’s that easy! Shatter without thinner for me, wouldnt crack if there are overlaying swipes, but after adding thinner, it would still crack - and that makes all the difference! I would definitely recommend this method to everybody are also having problems with applying shatter polish.

I have swatched the Pink and Gold shatter over a few base color for people who are interested to see how the shatters look. Please note that I have added thinner in them, so it may differ from how your shatter cracks, but the colour of the polish is definitely not affected.

Pink Shatter and Gold Shatter over OPI Alpine Snow

The Pink shatter is a bright neon-ish pink and dries matte while Gold shatter dries with hints of shimmer. Pink shatter is also much more opaque than the Gold shatter.

This is actually my favourite combination out of the 3 that I have swatched! The shatter colours really popped in this!

Pink Shatter and Gold Shatter over China Glaze Re-fresh mint

This combination is quite *meh.. LOL.. I’m not sure why I chose re-fresh mint as the base colour, I just wanted to use something not white and not black and it’s hard to find a colour that looks well with both Pink and Gold.

That’s all on the shatters, hope you like them! I will also be attempting the 31 days polish challenge that some of my friends from PAA is doing - I will be posting more on that at a later time, so stay tuned for that!

- Bye!

Hufflepuff Inspired Nails
Guess who had received her pottermore welcome email and got sorted into Hufflepuff! LOL
Seriously haven’t been posting and changing my manicure as regularly anymore as I have been spending so much time in Pottermore that I hardly have time to care about my nails anymore!
When I first got sorted into Hufflepuff, I was like —> -.-|| Really? I’m a Hufflepuff? But after some time, Hufflepuffs really grew on me and I’m really proud to be a puff now! I’m now trying very hard to earn us more house points as we had been in the last place since forever.. I know.. *sigh..
Well, I can’t wait for the wizard dueling to come back into play and kick some Gryffindor, Slytherin and Ravenclaw butts! If you also have a pottermore account, feel free to add me as friend, I’m MistPotion29!
Gotta go brew some potions now! Cya!
